The Safe Pack

Iso-appearance in medicines (drugs that look or sound the same) is one of the main causes of preventable harm to health worldwide.

In Spain, the lack of regulation on packaging allows pharmaceutical companies to use similar designs, which can be confusing, especially for older patients. As a result, medication errors cause approximately 8,000 deaths each year in the country.

Safe Pack is a new design system that makes any medicine box easily identifiable. Through a system of adaptable sleeves, it helps differentiate the most commonly prescribed medications with a similar appearance in Spain, according to data from the National Health System.
